DÜRED President Dr. Murat Durak, the organizing team, and the event’s press partner OffshoreWind.TR conducted a technical site inspection at Piri Reis University’s main campus prior to the event on October 13–14, 2026.

ISTANBUL – Preparations are underway for Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026, organized by the Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED) on October 13–14, 2026. The event will be held at Piri Reis University’s main campus.

Prior to the event, which aims to bring together public institutions, private sector companies, academia, and civil society stakeholders operating in Turkey’s offshore wind energy sector, DÜRED President Dr. Murat Durak, the organizing team, and press partner OffshoreWind.TR conducted a detailed technical inspection at the university campus.

During the site visit, the event layout, stand areas, conference and presentation halls, and technical infrastructure requirements were evaluated in collaboration with university representatives and other stakeholders. The inspection covered the halls where conference sessions will be held, the positioning of stands, and the operational needs of the two-day event.

The team also assessed physical arrangements to support direct communication, business meetings, and technical interactions between participating companies and sector representatives.

Offshore Wind YEKA Schedule Increases Event’s Importance

Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 will take place during a critical period for the sector, following the announcement of the schedule for Turkey’s first offshore wind Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA) tender.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the tender is planned to be officially declared in September 2026 and held in the first quarter of 2027. Turkey also aims to reach 5,000 MW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2035.

The announced tender schedule increases the strategic importance of the October event for investors, technology providers, engineering companies, and maritime sector organizations wishing to participate in Turkey’s developing offshore wind market.

The conference is expected to cover various stages of the offshore wind value chain, including project development, marine site surveys, port infrastructure, logistics, turbine technologies, engineering, and financing. The event aims to create a platform for exchange of views between public institutions and companies that will contribute to the technical, industrial, and commercial development of the sector as Turkey prepares for its first offshore wind projects.

Energy and Maritime Sectors to Meet on the Same Platform

Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 is expected to bring together representatives from public institutions, energy investors, turbine manufacturers, shipyards, port operators, maritime transport companies, research and engineering firms, universities, sector associations, and media organizations.

Offshore wind projects do not solely consist of electricity generation. These projects require coordinated competencies in areas such as marine research, foundation and platform manufacturing, port infrastructure, special purpose vessels, heavy transport, submarine cables, electrical systems, operation and maintenance services, and skilled workforce development.

Therefore, Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 is structured to bring together different components of Turkey’s developing offshore wind ecosystem on the same platform. The event aims to enable companies to showcase their capabilities, establish industry connections, and evaluate potential collaboration areas before Turkey’s first offshore wind tender.

Piri Reis University’s involvement in the event also adds an academic and maritime-focused dimension to the program in areas such as marine engineering, maritime operations, offshore technologies, and human resource development.
