DÜRED President Murat Durak at the Port Symposium

Dr. Murat Durak, President of the Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED), attended the first day of the International Symposium on the Legal Regime of Ports held today in Mersin. As the first day’s program of the symposium concluded, TÜRKLİM Secretary General Faruk Doğan, a DÜRED member, also participated in the event.
Organized in coordination with the Mersin Chamber of Shipping; in cooperation with Ankara University National Center for Maritime Law Research (DEHUKAM) and Mersin International Port Management Inc. (MIP), the symposium brings together national and international academics, public institutions, legal and maritime experts, and representatives from the port and maritime sectors.
The symposium addresses the legal regime and boundaries of ports, international maritime trade, legal liability in port services, smart ports and artificial intelligence applications, cybersecurity, data protection, maritime security, and port state controls.
The program also evaluates current regulations and sectoral developments concerning the social rights of maritime workers, port state jurisdiction, regional cooperation, green ports, decarbonization, and marine environmental protection.
The participation of DÜRED President Dr. Murat Durak highlights the importance of port infrastructure, maritime law, and sectoral collaborations for the development of the offshore wind energy sector. Ports are among the fundamental components for equipment transportation, installation, operation, and maintenance processes in offshore wind projects.
DÜRED continues its efforts to support the development of the offshore wind energy ecosystem in Turkey and strengthen knowledge sharing among related sectors.
