DÜRED Joins NOF Global Partnership Platform
Press Release
The collaboration established with UK-based NOF aims to create new connections between Turkey and the North Sea supply chains.
The Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED) has completed its application to join NOF’s Global Partner program, one of the leading business network platforms in the global offshore wind sector. The collaboration process initiated with NOF, a UK-based industrial organization, is expected to pave the way for new partnerships between the offshore wind energy ecosystems of Turkey and the UK.
The process began after discussions between DÜRED and NOF officials during the Global Offshore Wind event held in June. An official letter sent to DÜRED by Hannah Smiles, NOF International Business Development Manager, conveyed the invitation to join the organization’s Global Partner network.
NOF stated that the Global Partner model is based on mutual benefit and does not involve any membership fees. Within the scope of this collaboration, the goals include promoting events, sharing news, facilitating international delegation visits, and developing mutual support mechanisms in sectoral organizations.
UK Companies’ Interest in Turkey
NOF officials expressed their interest in receiving more information about the events DÜRED plans to organize in October, and also stated their desire to evaluate areas where UK-based companies could contribute to these programs.
The organization also stated its readiness to provide support regarding the planned offshore wind Renewable Energy Resource Areas (RERA) processes and upcoming tenders in Turkey. In this context, continued information sharing with DÜRED and monitoring developments in tender processes were requested.
Supply Chain and Technology Collaborations on the Agenda
Among the information conveyed by NOF to DÜRED were details about the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult facilities, one of the offshore renewable energy research and testing infrastructures in the UK. The importance of these infrastructures was emphasized, particularly in terms of supply chain development, technology demonstrations, and industrial collaborations.
The organization also expressed its pleasure in supporting events organized by DÜRED and potential sectoral delegation visits to Turkey.
Upcoming Events Shared
The following organizations are among the upcoming events to be held by NOF and Energi Coast:
- Energi Coast Innovation Group Showcase – October 21, 2026
- Offshore Wind North East Conference & Exhibition – November 12, 2026
- Energi Coast Festive Social – December 15, 2026
- Energi Coast Regional Supply Chain Showcase – April 15, 2027
These events are considered to offer new opportunities for Turkish companies to connect with the UK offshore wind supply chain.
Significance for Turkey’s Offshore Targets
At a time when Turkey’s first offshore wind Renewable Energy Resource Areas (RERA) processes are on the agenda, DÜRED’s strengthening of its relations with international industry networks is seen as an important step for information sharing, supply chain development, and investor relations.
Especially considering the UK’s long-standing experience in offshore wind, the collaboration between DÜRED and NOF is expected to contribute to the developing offshore wind ecosystem in Turkey.
